HeliVation Helicopters LLC offers advanced specialty courses for the following certificates:

Certified Flight Instructor

Many civilian pilots start their career as flight instructors. It is a great way to learn your trade while making a living and building your time.

 

You will never have an opportunity to learn as much as you do as a flight instructor and we at HeliVation Helicopters LLC suggest to anyone that wants to make a career for themselves in helicopters spend at least a few hundred hours as a flight instructor.

 

  • The Flight Instructor certificate allows you to teach others to fly helicopters. 

    FAA Requirements

    •  Obtain Commercial Pilot Certificate

    •  FAA 2nd class medical

    •  Pass the FAA Fundamentals of Instruction Knowledge Test

    •  Pass the FAA Written Knowledge Test

    •  Pass the FAA Practical Test

    •  Obtain Sufficient Dual Instruction to Gain Proficiency (No Minimum)

  • Current certificate requirements in detail 

  • The Instrument Flight Instructor certificate allows you to teach others to fly helicopters under instrument conditions. 

    FAA Requirements

    •  Hold a Commercial and a Helicopter Instrument Rating 

    •  FAA 3rd class medical

    •  Pass the FAA Written Knowledge Test

    •  Pass the FAA Practical Test

    •  Obtain Sufficient Dual Instruction to Gain Proficiency (No Minimum)

  • Current certificate requirements in detail

 

The cost for these certificates vary from student to student and depends on how many hours and what type of flight experience you already have. We invite you to bring your logbook and come sit down with one of our course managers to develope a custom training program. This training program will be tailored to fit your specific needs in order to maximize your training while minimizing the cost to you!

 

Requirements

- Be at least 18 years of age

- Hold a commercial pilot certificate

- Hold an instrument rating (for helicopter CFI)

- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

- Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate

- Have logged at least 250 hours (200 for helicopters) and the required training for the CFI        rating per FAA regulations

- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
